13: 00: SESSIONS 1, 2 & 3

1. William Marshall, CIO at HRIS, will look at the new era for investors - what's happened, what's changed, and what's next.

2. James Ramsay, Head of Investment Product Management at Puma Investments, will discuss the recent changes to Inheritance Tax in the context of Business Relief and how these solutions can help reduce your clients IHT liability especially in the context of pensions forming part of your estate from April 2027.

3. Dentons Technical Sales Director, Stephen McPhillips, will delve into the subject of commercial property - its continuing importance in self invested pensions and the implications of holding commercial property directly within a SIPP or a SSAS in light of the Autumn 2024 Budget proposals to bring pensions within scope of Inheritance Tax.  He will address issues such as liquidity and succession planning within schemes as well as outlining the compelling reasons why clients have historically chosen to buy commercial properties in this way.
